“Nós continuamos achando que não existe nenhum motivo para as cautelares. Eu quero lembrá-los que isso é um inquérito eleitoral. Nós estamos tratando de fatos pretéritos na eleição passada. Então, não existe nenhum fato deste que tem uma repercussão hoje. É inclusive um crime, teoricamente, que não pode ser cometido hoje. Não existe compra de votos hoje. Nós não estamos no período eleitoral. Não existem candidatos. Então por essas questões técnicas, eu continuo afirmando: Não existe nenhum motivo para essas cautelares”, argumentou o advogado Edson Araújo questionando a motivação da prisão da vereadora e requerendo a liberação dela para responder o processo em liberdade.
