O juiz Kelson Carvalho Lopes da Silva, do Juizado Cível e Criminal Leste 1 – Horto, acatou pedido do Ministério Público e determinou a interpelação judicial do vereador Petrus Evelyn. A medida foi motivada por declarações feitas pelo parlamentar em sua página no Instagram (@opiauiense), no dia 11 de março de 2022, em que responsabilizava juízes e outras autoridades pelo avanço da criminalidade no Piauí.

Sentindo-se atingidos, os magistrados Leonardo Brasileiro, Raimundo José de Macau Furtado, Lidiane Suely Marques Batista, Carmen Maria Paiva Ferraz Soares e Carlos Augusto Arantes Júnior acionaram a Justiça para que o vereador esclareça ou corrija suas declarações. Embora a interpelação não tenha caráter obrigatório, o caso pode resultar em novas ações judiciais.
