O vereador Samuel Alencar (União Brasil) pode enfrentar a segunda eleição consecutiva. O parlamentar é especulado como candidato a deputado estadual em 2026.
Segundo uma fonte (de dentro da Câmara Municipal) consultada pela Teresina FM, o projeto é mais de interesse do vice-prefeito da capital, Jeová Alencar (Republicanos), pai de Samuel. Foi possível apurar que o gestor já avisou os principais líderes da base de apoio sobre o objetivo.

Jeová Alencar foi eleito deputado estadual em 2022, mas teve que deixar a Assembleia Legislativa do Piauí (Alepi) em 2024 para se dedicar à disputa pelo comando do Palácio da Cidade. Ele foi substituído pelo agora efetivo Gessivaldo Isaías (Republicanos).
Samuel Alencar é novato no mundo político, está defendendo o primeiro mandato eletivo. O vereador obteve 5.379 votos, é o único representante do União Brasil no legislativo municipal.
